These are fairly good, with just the right amount of crunch and the seasoning is delicious, and not greasy, thanks to the dry roasting.Crispy and tasty, the seasoning is spot on—rich, savory, and packed with flavor, well prepared. Also, the packaging is distinctive and easy to read, so you can see everything that's been added and the nutritional values, it’s big enough for sharing, good way of trying to limit calories. This is a fantastic product and is competitively priced. They're great for snacking, whether you're relaxing at home or entertaining friends and family.

I really like these water lily pops; they are filling and flavoursome. The chilli lime flavour is amazing; it’s fiery and zesty so it leaves a good tingle on the tongue. I was surprised how crunchy they are; they look like puffed wheat but they have a lovely crunch. They are surprisingly filling too. Two of us would usually polish off this size of snack in one sitting but we had this pack over three days and were more than satisfied with each portion. The resealable tub contains 85g of crunch tasty snacks and there’s 425 calories in the whole pack so it’s just as well you can put the lid back on and save them for another day.Priced at £6.59 (at the time of review), it’s a reasonable price for fox nuts/water lily pops and I would definitely recommend this flavour.

We've never tried makhana before and this first experience has been good. The centimetre-diameter puffs have a texture more reminiscent of polystyrene foam than of popcorn but crunch nicely giving a pleasant snack for each seed. There is a salty front taste and then a slightly charcoal-burner after taste - not getting any other flavours. Personally I would have preferred one of the more strongly flavoured varieties as I'm not wild about the after-taste.The tub lasted several sittings. It is opened with a ring pull on a metal seal under the twist-off lid, but the rest of the canister is a stout transparent plastic. The lid reseals for freshness. The product is pleasingly low on ingredients and this flavour checks out well as free from all the allergens we check for (gluten, dairy and nuts). The use of salicornia salt (from samphire, potassium rather than sodium based) is novel and allows the snack to be low sodium despite being so salty. We will probably try some more, but for a special occasion rather than for routine snacking!

I’ve never heard of Makhana seeds before. They come from a water lily plants! Roasted in olive oil, these water lily pops taste lovely with a crunchy texture and a delicious chili and lime taste. The flavour is just right. The chili flavour is hotter than I expected, but not excessively so. I heated some for 30 seconds in the microwave (any more and they start burning!) as recommended as an alternative serving suggestion on the label. They did have more crunch but I think they taste better straight from the container. They do go well with a serving of Greek yoghurt. A couple of things: 1) They are healthier than a bag of crisps but they are also a lot more expensive 2) The plastic container seems excessive. I’ve seen similar snacks served in a crisp type packet.

Unusual but delicious.Nice crunchy, soft texture with a nice salty, zingy flavour. They are quite rich in flavour so you dont need the whole container to feel satisfied. The container has a ring pull metal top and a **** lid so they are fresh and portable.Get a good amount of helpings.Healthy alternative for snacking and salt intake.Excellent quality and value for money.Highly recommend. Thank you

These are a bit of a shock if you’re expecting anything like crisps or popcorn. The texture is dry and airy but also oddly chalky, and the roasted flavour has a slightly bitter edge that just doesn’t sit right. I tried a couple and that was enough. The seasoning didn’t help much, it just clung to that strange base taste rather than improving it. I get that they’re meant to be a healthier snack, but this felt more like something you tolerate than enjoy.

My god-daughter tells me these are becoming popular at the moment. And my Chinese wife tells me that these have been eaten for a long time. So I was quite willing to try these.Gosh, they are interesting. Effectively water lily seeds have been subjected to the popcorn treatment. They are exceptionally crunchy in a very mouth-pleasing manner. And then you get the flavour of the chili and lime, which washes through your mouth. There's a slight saltiness that is not overpowering, but gives a nice savoury aftertaste.I rather like these and they're quite moreish, so watch out. Whilst they seem okay value for something so unusual, that they're so easy to eat means you might go through them rather quickly. It's nice that they come in a sturdy tube (which is easy to repurpose when empty), which will protect the contents if you take them with you when you go out. They're certainly portable, but I doubt they'll last long enough for that to be a realistic proposition.

Despite being quite spicy, these are very moreish snacks. They are quite crunchy and have a bit of a nutty flavour too. I was very pleased that they're quite a lot healthier than many other savory snacks, but they are still quite high in potassium, which can be an issue for a lot of people. They come well packaged with a scew top, but a ring pull inside to keep them fresh. I was very happy with the quality of the snacks and pleased to see they are free from many common allergens. At the current price of £6.99 for an 85g tub, they are quite pricey in my opinion, but they are quite different and for some it will be worth paying that bit extra.

This product was quite enjoyable; it comes in a large plastic tube, and each water lily pop was especially enjoyable, especially for the aftertaste. The snacks feel quite a bit like popcorn, but are a little harder and have a different taste. This is a lower-calorie alternative to other snacks, and I enjoyed it a lot. I definitely recommend this product.

Ok I fully admit that these certainly have the visual appearance of oddly shaped packing-peanuts.. and slightly, a polystyrene texture that I would imagine is similar to actual packaging-peanuts - but jokes aside, it in all seriousness they're not like popcorn other than being low density. They almost melt away, and the flavour is pretty much purely the salt that comes through (I'm not sure what the phrasing of 'plant based salt' means on the ingredients list, compared to normal salt). They are seasoned a large amount, which makes them moreish.

This is a really tasty low calorie snack. These water lily pops are nice and crunchy and the chilli and lime flavour is really nice, it has a slight kick but not overly spicy. They are very moreish, I found them difficult to put down. The best before date is 7 months after the date of purchase.I appreciate that they are gluten-free and low sodium. They are a good healthier snack option. I think they are reasonable value and would happily recommend them :)

These are quite an interesting proposition. I was keen to try a new and healthy snack, and thought this might make an interesting new addition to the kids lunchboxes. The Lily Pops have quite an unusual flavour that is not overly strong, but distinctive. I don't dislike it, but I wouldn't rush back for more. A similar conclusion was reached by the rest of the family.I like the fact that the ingredients are minimal, just lily seeds, olive oil and plant based salt. What annoys me is that the ingredients details on the Amazon listing is completely inaccurate ("Popped Water Lily Seeds (fox nuts, makhana), olive oil, plant-based salt, dehydrated onion flakes, black pepper, chives, milk solids, cheese powder"). Clearly there has been a mix up somewhere, but I have found the same inaccuracy on other flavours of these pops and feel that it is important to get this information correct so that people understand what they are ordering.I find the plastic container a bit over the top - what's wrong with a crisp style packet that would use significantly less plastic?

The tub is massive! It lasts well for snacking through the week. The texture is crisp. The classic salted flavour is light. It feels like a much healthier snack than a bag of crisps. The ingredients list looks excellent. I like that it is plant based, low sodium, vegan, gluten free, and non GMO. I reach for it in the evening without feeling bad about it. Good value for the price. Very pleased. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Would certainly recommend and purchase more!

Starry night

I was quite keen to try these waterlily seed pop snacks - I had previously had them in Chilli and Lime flavour, but didn't really like the sugar, spices and mango in the flavouring and found it hard to tell what the snacks were really like, or indeed to see how effective the low sodium plant based salt is as an alternative to the real thing. The snacks are light, crispy and airy. Similar in size to something like cheese footballs or Maltesers (there is a bit more variation than you get with either of these, due to the natural variation in seeds). They're kind of similar to popcorn for aeration, but seem a bit crispier and less squeaky on teeth.I really liked the plant based salt. It tastes like proper salt, unlike the vile alternatives and lower salt versions made with potassium chloride. If anything I thought these were perhaps a little too salty in flavour: definitely the limit on what I would find tolerable. The £6.59 per tube price point seems a little punchy, until you appreciate that there are 6 portions in a tube, and at £1.10 per portion for healthy, natural snacks these seem quite reasonable in terms of value for money.

I often want to have a salty snack in the evenings, however I suffer from high blood pressure and cut out salt long ago. I hanker after crisps, but know I can't have them - or just have them rarely.A couple of years ago I discovered the SaltWise company and bought a packet of their low sodium salt from the salicornia plant, and I use it all the time. So when I saw these snacks, I was tempted to try them. These arrive in a strong plastic tub with a **** on top and a ring pull can top to keep everything fresh. There are also packets of desiccant inside to keep everything crisp. I had never heard of water lily seeds being eaten - rather a strange concept for me. They look something like the very unhealthy cheese pops I ate in my childhood (without the alarming orange covering!!). At first I wasn't sure - I definitely liked the hit of salt I got, but the taste was a bit different from what I was expecting. A little bit like popcorn, but different - hard to describe. I had a few more, and then a few more, and then I had to stop myself from eating far too many! This is definitely a snack which is addictive! The **** top keeps everything fresh, although I am not sure how long these will last as I really can't help having a few whenever I pass the tub!Very moreish, and I don't feel so guilty about eating these because not only do they use the salicornia salt, but also they are roasted in olive oil and are rich in antioxidants. Delicious.
